 **DESCRIPTION:**

The decennial census is a cornerstone of America’s democracy, and the current pandemic poses unprecedented challenges to obtain an accurate count. Everything from hospital and school facilities planning to economic development programs and emergency preparedness relies on census data. Join us for the second part of our census virtual series and learn from Kyla Fullenwider, the U.S. Census Bureau’s first Chief Innovation Officer, and Ditas Katague, the Director of California’s 2020 Census team, about how strategies are pivoting to count America during a pandemic.

Hosted by the Harvard Votes Challenge and Ash Center Democratic Governance and Innovation. This event is co-sponsored by the Kennedy School [Center for Public Leadership](https://cpl.hks.harvard.edu/).
